Getting my child baptised (or Christened)

Many parents decide they would like to get their child baptised (or christened), and wonder what to do next.

This is what you could do:

1. Ring the Church Office (01483 723879)
2. Give your details to Rosemary Donaghy, who will invite you to come along to Church for one of our Sunday services - they always start at 10.00 a.m. Rosemary will also give an outline of the steps to take to arrange the Baptism Service for your child.
3. When you come to Church, you will probably be welcomed by people on the door, from the Welcome Team. They should help you find your way around.
4. Try to make contact with one of the clergy (wearing dog collars!), so that you begin to get to know at least a few people. You will be reminded to ring Rosemary again, in order to join a Baptism Preparation group.
5. For the Baptism Preparation evenings, we usually meet on 3 evenings, to understand the service better, and to answer any questions you may have.
