Mayor opens A2 at St Andrew’s

The Mayor of Woking, Cllr Bryan Cross had two good reasons to visit St Andrew’s Church on Sunday, 27th January. At the morning service he helped launch St Andrew’s season of study and community service, “Forty Days of Community”, by answering questions from youth church members about his Christian background and long-held desire to serve the community.

The mayor then performed the Official Opening of “The A2” – St Andrew’s Youth and Community Centre – sited next to the main church building at Goldsworth Park Centre.

Cllr Cross has close links with the Goldsworth Park community. He has been a Borough Councillor for Goldsworth East since 1998 and has served as school governor at Sythwood Primary School for 14 years. He is also a committed Christian.

The A2 provides a home for St Andrew’s youth groups and other community activities. St Andrew’s provides a base for many other organisations and activities, from parenting courses and mother and toddler groups to Woking Choral Society which rehearses in the main worship area on Monday evenings.
